Bolshevik activists detained in Moscow
Twenty-five Bolshevik activists were detained in Moscow Saturday for allegedly trying to hold an unapproved rally under the guise of a wedding, police said. A police spokesman told RIA Novosti the members of the banned National Bolshevik Party all resisted arrest when officers showed up at Red Square to disperse them. "The incident took place at around 11:45 a.m. Moscow time (07:45 GMT), when a group of young people imitating a wedding procession tried to enter Red Square and hold an unsanctioned rally," he said. "The detainees say they are members of the banned National Bolshevik Party." At least one of the activists will face criminal charges for allegedly spraying a police officer in the face with pepper spray, the spokesman said.
